James Arthur Miller Sr.
James Arthur Miller Sr., 93 of Freedom, passed away in the predawn hours into the arms of God on November 21, 2023. He was born at home in the Village of Unionville, PA on June 24, 1930 a son of the late Phillip and Alice Miller. He was retired from General Alloy Casting Company in North Rochester, M&S Racing in Freedom, as well as the Vicary Mansion in Freedom. He was a lifelong, dedicated, and active member of Unionville United Methodist Church. He served on numerous committees, was a trustee, and was awarded one of longest perfect attendance award for Sunday School. The only thing more important to him than his church was his beloved family. Jim spent his free time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren at countless sports activities at Freedom School. His favorite place in the world was his camp in Warren, PA.
He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 72 years, Esther Mae Miller, whom he met at Ault’s Square Dancing; three children: James & Odel Miller Jr., Michael & Donna Miller, and Sharon Miller (David Madura), all of Freedom; 7 grandchildren: Jaime Loschinskey, Nicole Meyer, Tiffany Miller, Melissa “Buddy” Albright, Joshua Knopp, Jaclyn D’Arrigo, and Olivia Jones; 13 great grandchildren: Stephania, Kaleb, David, Christopher, Kohen, Tori, Farah, Madison, Enzo, Asher, Miller, Adelaide and Sage; one sister-in-law: Thelma Miller. and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers; Ivan and Kenneth Miller, an infant sister, a granddaughter, Emily Knopp, twin great granddaughters Denise and Alexis Denkovich, two sisters-in-laws; Dot Sporcic, and Betty Clinton, two brothers-in-law: Cliff Finch and Normand Finch; two nephews, Kenneth Miller Jr. and Kevin Finch, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law Charles and Dorothy Finch.
Friends will be received on Sunday, November 26, 2023 from Noon until 5pm in the Huntsman Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Rochester. As well as on Monday, November 27, 2023 from 10am until the time of Funeral Service at 11am in Unionville United Methodist Church.
Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.

He was truly an amazing man. Although I’m not related, he always felt like family to me. He was always a highlight for me at church. What a blessing he was to all who knew him! He will be missed so much
