Dorothy Jane (Klinensmith) Batzel

Dorothy Jane (Klingensmith) Batzel, 102 of Hopewell Twp., passed away on June 8, 2022 in her home.  She was born in Hempfield Twp., on August 14, 1919 the daughter of the late Annas O. and Jane Ann (Ritson) Klingensmith.  She was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church of Aliquippa where she was part of the United Methodist Women and was head of the soup luncheons. She was known for her cooking, especially her raisin pie, her kindness, sewing and her dry humor.   

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Arthur Batzel whom she married on September 4, 1954. As well as, siblings, Irene Ruth & Hugh Klingensmith, Annas (Clara) Klingensmith, Mary (Wesley) McCullough. Her grandson: Kevin A. Cromer; her granddaughter: Shawn Lee (Rhodes) Hux; and her In Laws: Jack (Phyllis) Batzel and Dorothy (J.R.) Alger.

She is survived by her daughter Martha (Robert) Cromer, a son, Dan (June) Batzel; a granddaughter; Heather (Tony Bardzilouskas) Cromer, their children Anthony Robert and Laurel Aria; a grandson: Robert (Stasha) Cromer and their children, Robert C., Silas and Cecilia:  grandchildren: Rhonda Rhodes, Lee (Robyn) Rhodes, Channon (Chris) Rickard-Ryan, Tony(Thuy) Rhodes, a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

All services are private. 

Interment will take place at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
