Catherine Beshenich, of Hopewell Township, formerly from Shaler Township passed from this life to eternal peace on April 13, 2022. Born on March 11, 1928 to Stella and John Fryer, she was the youngest of six children. Waiting for her in heaven are her brothers John, David, and William and her sisters Miona and Ann. Meeting her at the gates of heaven is John Bradley Bowden, her son-in-law. Surviving are her children Katherine (David) Imhof, David (Joan) Tucker, Ann (Scott) Burnett and Debra Goyke-Bowden. Affectionately called Grandma Donkey, her legacy continues on in grandchildren Diane Klingensmith, Meghan (Joe) Cohn, Brynna Kate Tucker, Jill (Adam) Zunic, Megan (Robert) Dence, Scott (Heather) Burnett, Brian (Jordan) Burnett, Nate Bowden, Lindsay (Michael)Pica and Hope Bowden. Great grandma to 18 and future great great grandma, she will be missed by all who cherished her deeply. Kay was a lover of any sweets, especially pie, chocolate, and the homemade fudge her granddaughter Diane lovingly supplied. Her favorite place in the world was the Rivers Casino where she would spin away at the butterfly machine. She loved spending time with her children and had many tales to tell them about the golden days of radio and having coffee soup during the depression. She enjoyed word searches and nightly Wheel of Fortune games. Kay lived with her daughter Debra and her family for years and she loved watching Pittsburgh sports and soap operas. Visitation and viewing will be held on Friday, April 15 from 4pm until 8pm and in Huntsman Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Aliquippa. Also on Saturday, from 10am until the time of Funeral Service at 11am conducted by Rev. Kevin Neal.
One of Kay’s favorite words of wisdoms were “I am never alone. I have an angel on my shoulder and God in my heart.” She is now our guardian angel.

  1. Deepest sympathy and heartfelt hugs. Aunt Kay gave so much of herself to care for others. We so cherished our memories of EatNPark lunches and our Wild West road trip. We will miss her dearly. Nephew Bill and Cathy
