Florence E. Fleming

 

 

Florence E. Fleming, of New Sewickley Twp., age 100, passed away on Sunday March 5, 2017 in Heritage Valley Beaver. She was born on November 22, 1916 in Rochester and was the daughter of the late John & Fern (Barnes) Buckenheimer.

She was a retired Registered Nurse having worked for the Rochester Hospital. She was a member of Faith Community United Methodist Church, a member of the United Methodist Women, a member of the Philathia Class of the church.  She belonged to the Rochester Hospital Nursing Alumni and loved doing lunch with retired Rochester people.  She was an avid card player and the Pirates have lost their #1 fan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph Fleming, a son in law Franz Swogger, a brother John Buckenheimer and two sisters Lillian Smiley & Evelyn Buckenheimer.

Surviving her are her children, David & Charlotte Fleming of New Sewickley Twp., Donald & Linda Fleming of Chippewa, Karen & Ted Magness of New Sewickley Twp., Nancy Swogger of Center Twp., 11 grandchildren, 21 plus one soon to be born great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

Friends will be received Wednesday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm in the Huntsman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc. 502 Adams St. Rochester where a funeral service will be conducted on Thursday at 11:00am by her pastor Rev. Donald Dotterer, PhD. Private interment will follow at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Pre School Fund of the Faith Community United Methodist Church 339 Jefferson St. Rochester, PA 15074
