
Robert “Bob” Morris
Robert “Bob” Morris, 79, of Independence Twp. passed away on Saturday June 21, 2025 in Heritage Valley Sewickley. He was born in Chicago, IL on September 15, 1945 the son of the late Phillip W. & Evelyn (Skaggs) Morris.
He graduated from Thornton Fractional South High School in Lansing, Illinois in 1963. He received a B.S. degree in metallurgical engineering from Purdue University in 1968. He began working at J & L/LTV Steel in 1968 in Hennepin, Illinois. He continued working for J & L /LTV in Cleveland and eventually retired from their Aliquippa Works in 2001.
While at Purdue, he was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity and years later served as a district chief for 4 colleges in Ohio. He was active in the Jaycees in Illinois, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, serving as a state officer in Ohio. After retiring, he and Karen delivered meals for Aliquippa Meals On Wheels for several years. He enjoyed golfing, collecting guns, and competing in pistol shoots. He was a very active member of the Pittsburgh Gun Club and served as an officer.
He is survived by his wife of 54 yrs., Karen J. (Shirley) Morris. Two daughters: Susan Wilkins (Craig) Shaler Twp.; Karelyn Donahue, VA. Five grandchildren, Ashley Morris (Trace), Jackson Donahue, Cohen, Olivia & Josie Wilkins. A brother, Phillip W. Morris Jr. (Deb), MA. Two nieces, Jennifer & Heather Taylor.
Friends will be received on Friday June 27th from 4PM until time of Memorial Service at 7PM in the Huntsman Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Aliquippa (2345 Mill St.) Per his wishes, Bob was cremated. Private interment will happen at a later date.
