Michael “Sonny” Tackac, 94 of Rochester, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026 in his home.  He was born in Ambridge, Pennsylvania on September 25, 1931. He loved Polka music, going to Polka dances and enjoyed Polka festivals. Sonny especially loved the holidays, decorating his room for all of them. He would get so much joy out of decorating for Christmas.  Sonny taught all of the kids in his family how to shoot pool. He spent time bowling and watching cowboy movies.  Sonny brought so much joy to everyone around him, he truly was a ray of sunshine. Most of all, Sonny loved to be with his family. Sonny enjoyed going to the Life Beaver center regularly. All the staff was always so kind to him and showed him so much love. His family is very thankful for Life Beaver.

He was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law: Richard and Jeanie Tackac.

He will be deeply missed by his family: Tammy, Grayson, Jeff, Richie, Justin, and Amber Tackac; and a beloved cousin, Barbara Jurcak. He is also survived by numerous cousins and other loving family.
