Nellie Katherine Loftus

Nellie Katherine Loftus, 96 of Pulaski Twp., passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 in her home. She was born on October 4, 1929 in Glen Campbell, PA a daughter of the late James and Ethel White.  She was a retired custodian for Western Beaver School District, a long-time member of Faith Community United Methodist Church in Rochester; a lifetime member of both Woodlawn Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Rochester VFW Auxiliary.

Nellie enjoyed playing cards and building jigsaw puzzles.  She thoroughly loved going camping and watching her hummingbird feeders and she also loved visits with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William; her stepmother Dolly (Yeager) White; a daughter, Carol Mahovlich, a grandson, Pete Mahovlich, and her son-in-law, Steve Cline. She was also preceded in death by her nine brothers: James, Clark, Ben, Everett, Glenn, William, Leslie, Ordie, and Bob; three sisters: Dorothy, Helen, and Betty; and 4 step brothers: Elmer, Gilbert, Darrel, and Walter Yeager.

She is survived by her two sons: William & Carol Loftus, Baden, PA; Richard Loftus & Margaret Beakes, Hobe Sound, FL; and her daughter: Bonnie Cline, New Brighton, PA; 11 grandchildren: Susan, Christie, Butchie, Michael, Karen, Patty, Matthew, Ricky, Heather, Nichole, and Jason: 27 great grandchildren and numerous great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her partner in life, Nelson Mitchell.

Friends will be received on Saturday, January 10, 2026 from 11am until the time of Funeral Service at 1pm in Huntsman Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Rochester.

Private interment will take place in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.

  1. Aunt Nellie will be missed greatly. She was a caring soul, and, one never left Nellie’s home, being hungry. She kept a meticulous home and cared for those who visited. Nellie was an adventurous soul and, she was “up” , for most any road trip ! She always asked, “When are you going to come and visit us ???” She will continue to be be cherished in folks’ hearts and memories.
