Frank B. Yankello
Frank B. Yankello, 88, of Moon Twp., died on September 19, 2025 in his home with his family present. He was born in Ambridge, PA on December 18, 1936, the son of the late Peter & Mary (Napoleon) Yankello.
Frank graduated from Saint Veronica’s, class of ‘54 in Ambridge, PA, and he attended the Pittsburgh Technical Institute for electronics. Frank also served in the Navy Reserves for eight years.
Frank is survived by his wife of 64 yrs Donna J. (Muha) Yankello. Five children: Frank M. Yankello (Nancy), OH; Tom P. Yankello (Lee), Center Twp.; Joe J. Yankello (Hilarie), OH; Paul A. Yankello (Annette), Center Twp.; Nicole James (Thomas), Moon Twp. Fourteen Grandchildren: Christopher Yankello, Jennifer Zitterich, Matthew Yankello, Maiah Yankello, Michaela Yankello, Olivia Yankello, Zachary Yankello, Joshua Yankello, Amanda Yankello, Michael Yankello, Andrew Yankello, Luke James, Elizabeth James, and Jakob James. Two Great Grandchildren: Jameson Zitterich, Anneliese Yankello. Three Siblings: Josephine Toia, Michael Yankello, and Thomas Yankello.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by a brother, Peter Anthony (Tony) Yankello.
Friends will be received on Monday, September 22ndfrom 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM in The Huntsman Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Moon Twp. (1522 Coraopolis Hts. Rd.) Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 10 AM in St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Moon Twp. (Everyone please meet at church) Committal and entombment will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Moon Twp.
Frank and his brother, Michael, owned and operated Yankello’s Radio and Television, a long-time staple of Sewickley, PA. Frank and his brother were both named 2017 Sewickley Citizens of the Year for their contributions to the community. Additionally, he served a term as President of the Sewickley Board of Trade. Frank also had a big love of music and during his 20’s, sang in a quartet as the member of The Four Steps, who won Aliquippa best group of the year. Frank will be remembered for his hard work, kindness, selflessness, and always wanting to serve others. Frank will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and other who knew him.

I have known Frank since childhood, he was one of the five boys at the stone quarry at the top of Dixon Road there the day my brother was shot and died. In the 60’s we bought a HI-FI Console from Yankello’s. I remember his father who I believe was a Ham Radio buff and who inspired Frank and Mike.

The Yankello brothers have been a part of our town as long as I can remember. Frank had a great way with people, always so helpful and available for whatever you needed. I am very sad to hear of his passing and send my deepest sympathy to his brother Mike who I know and to his wife and children. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I’m very sorry to hear about the passing of Frank. I remember years ago Frank and Mike and their wives came to visit us in Las Vegas. I have fond memories of the store in Sewickley .

My condolences to the Yankello family Frank and Mike would come to our family house and fix our TV in 60’s and 70’s the old ones had tube’s in them they were the TV doctors I always enjoyed going to the shop and just talking with both of them, Mike and Elmer bought the last TV to my house in Leetsdale and I still have it, Frank and Mike were true family friends. I have such fond memories of Frank going back to my preteens and playing football on the farm with all the cousins. Family was such an important part of Frank’s life and he treated everyone with respect.

I am so sorry to learn of Frank’s passing. He was a true gentleman who always went out of his way to accommodate his customers and friends. My sincere condolences to Mike and the Yankello family. He will truly be missed. Rest in peace, Frank.

I’ll always remember him from the old days — selling us our TVs and coming by to fix them. No one could adjust a picture like Frank! He was such a kind, steady presence, and more than that, part of our famiglia. Those memories remind me how much he meant, not just for what he did, but for who he was. Please know I’m thinking of you and praying for you all to feel peace in your hearts.
