Margaret Jane “Peg” Gardner

Margaret Jane “Peg” Gardner, 89 of Conway, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 in Rochester Manor and Villa.  She was born in Indiana, Pennsylvania on March 4, 1935. She worked with Wyckoff Steel, Solid State Measurements and in her retirement, the garden department at Lowes.  She had a love for all things outdoors and she enjoyed skiing and golfing. She was a Master Gardner with Penn State. She also was an avid reader and liked to dabble with investments as a member of a local investment club

She was preceded in death by her grandparents who raised her, Samuel and Margaret Fisher, her father, Joseph Bedzyk, her mother and step-father: Kathryn and Murray Steffey, daughter Cindy Fenchak; brother Murray “Dutch” Steffey; and sister Mary Davis. 

She is survived by three daughters: Debbie & Mike Baycura, Daughterty Twp.; Kerry Clelland, Erie; and Kim Gardner who lived with and took care of Margaret; her longtime companion; John Bills, Rochester; 7 grandchildren: Ben (Joanne) Fenchak, Cara (Shawn) Coladonato, Mike (Dani) Baycura; Steven Baycura, Jenifer (Ryan) Wolz, Morgan Clelland and Kelsey Clelland; 8 great grandchildren: Sam, Brody, Dominic, Vinny, Zack, Shane, Bella, and Madi; sister-in-law Elin Steffey; brother Gary (Linda) Steffey, and her beloved cat Atticus.

In recent years, Mom was thrilled to connect with her half-sister Joanne Jenkins of Wooster, Ohio.

A Celebration of Life will held on Sunday, September 8, 2024 from 2pm until 5pm in the Conway Croation Club 1412 2nd Ave. Conway, PA 15027.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Beaver County Humane Society 3394 Brodhead Rd. Aliquippa, PA 15001
