Esther Mae Miller

Esther Mae Miller, 91, of Freedom, just 38 days after the passing of her life-long love, died on December 29, 2023 in Heritage Valley Sewickley. She was born on October 9, 1932 a daughter of the late Charles “Pete” and Dorothy Finch.  She was a long-time member of Unionville United Methodist Church, serving on the Outreach Committee sending cards.  Esther was a prankster, she loved to play April Fool’s jokes on her beloved family.  She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, and water battles.  She was known for her donuts that she would make every Fat Tuesday and deliver to all her family.  Her family was her life.  She enjoyed spending every minute she could helping, taking care of, and visiting with her family. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 72 years on November 21, 2023, James A. Miller; a granddaughter: Emily Knopp; two great granddaughters: Denise and Alexis Denkovich; her siblings: Cliff Finch, Normand Finch, Dot Sporcic, and Betty Clinton; two nephews: Kenneth W. Miller Jr. and Kevin Finch; and two brothers-in-law: Ivan and Kenneth Miller.

She is survived by her three children: James & Odel Miller Jr., Michael & Donna Miller, and Sharon Miller (David Madura), all of Freedom; 7 grandchildren: Jaime Loschinskey, Nicole Meyer, Tiffany Miller, Melissa “Buddy” Albright, Joshua Knopp, Jaclyn D’Arrigo, and Olivia Jones; 13 great grandchildren: Stephania, Kaleb, David, Christopher, Kohen, Tori, Farah, Madison, Enzo, Asher, Miller, Adelaide and Sage; one sister-in-law: Thelma Miller. and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 3pm until 7pm in the Huntsman Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Rochester. As well as on Friday, January 12, 2024 from 10am until the time of Funeral Service at 11am in Unionville United Methodist Church. 

Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.

    It is with joy and thanksgiving I remember your Mom and Dad. It is with a great sense of loss that she has entered into her eternal rest. As your Mom passes, almost all of our relatives from that generation have entered eternity. We are the now the older generation. Might we be the example they were to us as we continue on what they began in us. Love to you all

The Miller family ,you guys have my sympathy to all of the family Esther is going to be so very sadly missed,I am heart broken for you guys Jim Miller Sr and Esther I will miss them both alots,they was such very nice in Sunday school they where my Sunday school buddies, and they made me feel welcome in Sunday school,and made us laugh ,they are an very sweet couple from Jenny smith
