James H. Fabian
James H. Fabian, 91, of Moon Twp. died on Friday July 14, 2023 in his home. He was born in Coatesville, PA on October 3, 1931 the son of the late Joseph & Anna (Allison) Fabian.
Jim attended McKees Rocks High School where he distinguished himself as a stand out athlete in football, basketball and baseball. He served his country in the US Army, in Germany, during the Korean War. Jim was a graduate of Duquesne University and taught high school history in the Shaler Area School District, where he was the rifle coach. Jim left teaching to become a teachers union representative with the Pennsylvania State Education Association (PSEA), and was passionate about fighting for teachers fair working conditions, retiring in 1997.
Jim was a world traveler, loved playing softball (into his eighties), gardening, and planting trees. Most of all he loved his family.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis (Di Clemente) Fabian. Children Jamie (John), Stephanie (James), Penne (Jay), Eric (Christine) and step-son Mark Izydore (Marta). Grandchildren Gabriel (Charlotte), Emerson, Eliot, Tanner (Nathalie), Madison, Sadie, Jesse, Charlotte, Juliet and a special adopted grandson, Dustin Nesbitt. Great grandchildren Saoirse and Rowan.
