Margaret Louise (Saxon) Young

Margaret Louise (Saxon) Young, 92, of Aliquippa, passed away on February 27, 2023.  She was born on October 17, 1930, in Aliquippa, PA.  She was the only daughter of the late John and Anna Florence (Lancos) Saxon.  Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Joyce (Teal) Saxon; brother, George Saxon; brother and sister-in-law Bob and Toni (Tonachella) Saxon; brother and sister-in-law John and Carol (Banks) Saxon; mother- and father-in-law, Jim and Ruth (Yarnell) Young; brother-in-law, Sam McMutrie; niece, Cathy Saxon; and nephews, Bill, Jim and Richard Saxon.  Margaret is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Jim Young; daughter, Pat (Mike) Baker, W. Melbourne, FL.; daughter, Kathy (Jon) Comis and granddaughters, Emma and Anna, Scott Township, PA; son, Jim (Lynne) Young and grandsons, J.j. and Cary, Upper St. Clair, PA; sister-in-law, Ruth (Young) McMutrie, Erie, PA; niece, Barbara (Saxon) Abbey, Waitsburg, WA; niece, Theresa (Saxon) Wall, Coraopolis, PA; nephew, Michael Saxon; niece, Carol Ann (“Sissy”) Saxon; and nephew, Donald (Celeste) Saxon, all of Aliquippa; nephews, Sam (Diane) McMutrie, Ben Avon, PA, and David (Beth) McMutrie, Erie, PA.  She is also survived by numerous great nieces and great nephews.  Margaret was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.  She was always there with a listening ear, kind word, support and encouragement, and eager to assist anyone in need.  Her sweet voice and smile revealed her kind heart.  She will be greatly missed.  She was a member of the House of Prayer Evangelical Lutheran Church and a life-long resident of Aliquippa.  Margaret was a graduate of the 1949 January Class of Aliquippa High School.  Margaret’s family would like to thank the staff at Beaver Healthcare on Golf Course Road and the staff at Gateway Hospice for their kindness and gentle care of their dear wife, mother and grandmother.

Friends and family will be received on Thursday, March 9, from 3 PM -7 PM in the Huntsman Funeral Home, 2345 Mill St., Aliquippa, PA 15001.  A funeral service will take place immediately following.  A private interment will be held on Friday, March 10, at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Rd., Bridgeville, PA 15017.  Memorial contributions may be made in Margaret’s memory to the Beaver County Humane Society.
