Rita A. (Hons) Nosal
Rita A. (Hons) Nosal, 87, of Crafton died on Saturday February 25, 2023 under the care of the hospice team at Family Hospice IPU, Canterbury Place, Pittsburgh. She was born in Bremerhaven, Germany on October 25, 1935 the daughter of the late Johann Hons & Elise (Bassen) Hons.
Rita worked as a seamstress when she first came to the United States. Most people remember her for the 30+ years she worked in thee retail industry managing the customer service desk at the G.C Murphy, later Ames, in Robinson Township. Her distinct voice was heard over the loud speaker daily. She had a passion for flowers and could grow anything, inside or outside. She enjoyed ice skating and loved to watch skating competitions. She was most happy being a wife, mother and grandmother, taking care of her children, grandchildren, and home.
In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony J. Nosal, in 2005. A brother, Walter Hons & a sister, Helga Dobber.
Rita is survived by her four children: Dr. Daniel Nosal (Amy), David Nosal (Elena), Diana McAllister (Eric), Laura Dorfner (Martin). A brother, Heinrich Hons (Erika), and 12 grandchildren that were the joy of her life. She always said her role as Mother and Grandmother were her most important jobs.
Friends will be received on Wednesday March 1st from 5-8PM in the Huntsman Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Moon Twp. (1522 Coraopolis Hts. Rd.) Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10:30 AM in St. Mary’s Church, Sewickley. (444 Glenfield Rd). Interment will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Moon Twp.
