John R. McArdle Jr.

John R. McArdle Jr., 70, of North Fayette, died on February 9, 2023 in his home.  He was born in McKees Rocks on June 3, 1952 the son of the late John R. “Jack” McArdle Sr. & Loretta (Jeffrey) McArdle.

John served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War.  He was a member of St. Isadore the Farmer Parish, Imperial. He was an avid gardener with the greenest thumb. He loved few things more than growing and storing his own food and making sure no one ever left his house hungry.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah A. (Marx) McArdle.  Four sons:  John R. McArdle III (Deena), Oakdale; Shawn J. McArdle (Christina Crivelli), Scott Twp.; Mark D. McArdle (Deanna), Clinton; Ronnie L. McArdle (Erica), Findlay Twp.  Four grandchildren:  John R. McArdle IV, Ryan N. McArdle, Shane Kennedy & Kaidence McArdle.  Siblings, Geraldine Cooper (late husband Leonard) Weston McArdle (Leth), Doreen McCormick (Bill) & Jackie Jampetro (Sam).  Sister-in-law, Lorrie Rhodes (Geoff).  Brothers-in-law, James Marx (Elaine) & Richard Marx (Linda).  His many nieces and nephews will miss him as well.

John was also a great lover of animals, especially dogs. He always supported saving a rescue and giving it a loving home. He will be survived by his best furry friend, Max, who will miss him dearly.

Friends will be received on Monday February 13th from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in The Huntsman Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Moon Twp. (1522 Coraopolis Hts. Rd.) where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10 AM.  Interment and military honors will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Moon Twp.

    1. Sorry for this loss. John’s wisdom helped me threw some trying times. Will miss his straight to the point advise. He’s in a much better place now with no pain and worries. Stand strong debbie and your family.
