Audrey Poppenger-Thorn

Audrey Poppenger-Thorn (née Waltonbaugh), 87, of Aliquippa, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022 in Cambridge Falls Senior Living.  She was born in Sewickley, PA on July 26, 1935. She worked as a secretary for Allegheny Country Club until her retirement. She loved reading, traveling, and spending her time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents William(Bill) & Mabel Waltonbaugh, husbands: Allen C. Poppenger in 1975 and Charles H. Thorn in 2019; a son-in-law: Randy McGinnis, a grandson: Christopher ‘CJ’ Brocklesby, and a brother-in-law: Robert Christner.

She is survived by her three children: Debra McGinnis, SC; Allen & Cheryl Poppenger, Moon Twp., and Patricia Butler, Aliquippa; 8 grandchildren: Randy “Jason” (Kay) McGinnis, Amy (Chris) Vrable, Jennifer (Ricky) Clamana; Danielle Karabinos (Neil), Christopher Poppenger, Meghan (Skip) Greenwald, James (DarrylAnn) Brocklesby, & Ashley (Cody) Miller; twenty-three great grandchildren; three siblings: Beverly Christner, Richard (Trudy) Waltonbaugh, and William (Kim) Waltonbaugh, as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their gratitude & appreciation for the love and care she received from the staff at Cambridge Falls as well as Advanced Hospice Care.
