Mary Jane Hunter

Mary Jane Hunter, 98 of Hopewell Twp., passed away peacefully on February 4th, 2022 at Good Samaritan Hospice, Wexford, PA.

The daughter of the late Emil and Hilda Zeller, Mary Jane was born in Pittsburgh on January 18th, 1924.

In addition to her parents, Mary Jane was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jess Hunter on December 1st, 2011, her sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Howdy Weidman, a brother, Harry Zeller, and a son-in-law, Harry Green.

Mary Jane retired from G.C. Murphy in the Hopewell Shopping Center after 25 years. She was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved to play solitaire and crochet. She was a fabulous baker, making homemade bread every Sunday. Her family was her biggest blessing, leaving them with many memories to hold in their hearts forever.

Left to cherish her memory are 4 children; Kathy Green, Racoon Twp., Bonnie (Jim) Bever, Greenville SC, David (Joanne) Hunter, Richmond VA and Jackie (Keith) Sickeler, Hopewell Twp., 10 grandchildren; Kelly (John) Bizzarri, Karen (Erik) Stotler, Ronnie (Misty) Bever, Jacob (Missy) Sickeler, Travis (Angela) Hunter, Emily (Patrick) Riley, Ross (Ashley) Sickeler, Lucas, Hank and Hannah Hunter. 8 great-grandchildren, Ashleigh Cook, Kayla Stotler, Evangelina Bever, Patrick and Shaymus Riley, Dalton & Beatrix Hunter, Mackenzie Sickeler, and a very special nephew, John Becker.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Good Samaritan Hospice, especially her nurse Lynn.

As per her wishes, there will be no viewing. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Arrangements are in the care of Huntsman Funeral Home, Aliquippa PA.
