John Anthony Lizzi
John Anthony Lizzi (formerly Sergeant, U.S. Army Intelligence) of Pittsburgh, 53, passed away at home suddenly this week. He was born on November 28, 1967, in Freedom, Pennsylvania, to Alex J. Lizzi, Sr. and Mary Anne Lizzi, née Emerick (deceased). In addition to his father, John is survived by four brothers (Alex Lizzi, Jr. of Pine, Colorado, Thomas Lizzi of Allison Park, Pennsylvania, Christopher Lizzi of North Charleston, South Carolina, and Joseph Lizzi of Williamsburg, Virginia) and their spouses, one uncle, five aunts, and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces. He had no children. John had a welcoming friendly word for everyone he met. He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, especially for the Pirates and Steelers. He was active in veterans’ activities and organizations. He loved being an American and took pride in being a veteran. Due to the pandemic, no viewing nor public service will be held. In lieu of flowers, please fly your flag and say a silent prayer for all veterans.
