Betty L. Byron

Betty L. Byron, 91, of New Sewickley Township, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2019.  She was born on July 4, 1928 in Ford City, the daughter of the late Welty and Hazel (Williams) Vensel.

Betty worked as a sales assistant at J.C. Penney’s for many years.  In her free time, she enjoyed traveling around the world, having gone on trips across the United States and overseas.  She was a member of New Sewickley Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Robert Byron; and a sister, Bernice Hagofsky.

She is survived by her three daughters, Deborah (Charles) McCracken of Bradenton, FL, Karen (Thomas) Greenhouse of Savannah, GA, and Barbara (Charles) Blake of New Sewickley; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a brother, Gerald Vensel of Kentucky.

A private internment will take place at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.

All services are being handled by Huntsman Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Rochester.
