Archie W. Smith

Archie W. Smith, 87 of Pulaski Twp., passed away on Tuesday March 13, 2018 in his home. He was born on February 22, 1931 in Rochester, PA The son of the late Archie and Sarah Smith. He was a 1949 graduate of Rochester High School and a US Army veteran serving as a staff sergeant during the Korean War. He was the owner and operator of Arch Smith Oil Company. He enjoyed spending his time rebuilding cars and camping. He was a member of the Park Finders Camping Club for many years. He also was a member of the Rochester VFW, Rochester American Legion and the Rochester Twp. Fireman’s Club.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two infant sons; a brother James Smith, a sister Edith Meteney, a daughter-in-law Lorilee Smith, and a great grandson Edward Smith II.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years Lois Smith, two children: Brian Smith, Wooster, OH; Margie Plocinik, Pulaski Twp.; 4 grandchildren: Edward (Carla) Smith, Gerry (Patrick) Corbett, Justin (Sara) Smith, Ryan (Emily) Plocinik; 7 great grandchildren: Cari (Brandon) Pryor, Caitlyn Smith, Lachlan, Max, and Gavin Corbett, McKenna and Lyla Smith.

At Archie’s request there will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11AM in Unionville United Methodist Church (1299 RT 68. Rochester) conducted by Rev. Doug Myers.

The family wishes to thank the staff and aids at Life Beaver County especially Kaitlyn, Erine and Valerie for their wonderful care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Beaver County Humane Society 3394 Brodhead Rd. Aliquippa, PA 15001.

The members of the Beaver County Special Unit will conduct Military Honors at the Church at 11:45am.
