Gretta L. Ballas

Gretta L. Ballas, 88 of Rochester Twp., formerly of New York, passed away on Sunday January 21, 2018 in Good Samaritan Hospice at Heritage Valley Beaver.  She was born on May 13, 1929 in Queens Village, NY the daughter of the late William A. & Gretta A Britz.  She worked for many years as an executive secretary for Otis Elevator in New York City.She was a member of St. Cecelia Roman Catholic Parish in Rochester.  She and her husband enjoyed participating in Revolutionary War reenactments. She was a member of the Rock and Mineral Society of Beaver County.  She loved to knit, sew, play piano and to cook for her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph John Ballas in 2006 and a brother William Britz.

She is survived by her two daughters: Annemarie & Mark Tejan, Hopewell Twp., and Rosemarie Bracco, Leesburg, VA; 4 grandchildren: Lauren (Alan) Flick, Lindsay Tejan, Billy (Selena) Bracco, and Christina Bracco: 4 great grandchildren: Hailey Grace and Conner Joseph Flick, Julian Alexander Ramirez, and Alessia Grace Bracco.

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2~4 & 6~8pm in the Huntsman Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Aliquippa 2345 Mill St. Where a funeral service will be conducted on Thursday at 11:00 AM

Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
