Rae Ellen Jobson
Rae Ellen Jobson, 47 passed away peacefully September 29, 2017 in Chandler AZ surrounded by her family. She met her lifelong partner on a spring day in 1988 which was followed by a 1992 wedding and completion of their family with the births of their daughters in 1999 and 2002; her family quite simply was her life.
Rae was a 1987 graduate of Center High School and a 1991 Graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a degree in accounting. She held multiple full-time jobs in the accounting field prior to starting a family at which time she stayed active thru part time accounting jobs and running several successful home-based businesses throughout the years. She also volunteered much of her time through various organizations both as a parent and an accountant.
Rae always found time to do and support the things she loved. She was a member of both the Center HS and IUP marching band proudly playing her trombone. She also devoted her time as an active member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority both during her collegiate days as well as after graduation as a member of the national organization. In addition, she was an avid tennis player and if challenged would rule the ping pong table. Throughout the past 8 years Rae supported the Susan G Komen 3 Day by raising thousands of dollars, walking hundreds of miles as well as being a spokesperson at last year’s opening ceremonies.
One of Rae’s greatest assets was her appetite for life and people which shined brightly thru multiple moves that spanned through PA, NC, IN, OH, VA, NC and finally AZ. Through each one she was able to ensure a smooth transition for her family while at the same time building a life-long group of friends across the country.
Rae was preceded in death by her father Donald E. Maple; her grandparents Herbert and Mary Lytle.
She is survived by her husband Chris Jobson and daughters Cameron Jobson and Caroline Jobson; her mother Marilyn R. Maple; sister Dawn Mullins and nieces Sarah Meismer and Michelle Goddin; brother Jerry Maple; and niece Hannah Maple; and half-brother Jeff Maple. She also leaves behind Chris’s parents, Ronald and Maureen Jobson and his siblings; Stacey Olszewski, Scott Jobson and Kurt Jobson. In addition she leaves behind her extended family of Robert and Terry Hegburg.
Viewing will be on Friday, October 6th 2~4 & 6~8pm at Huntsman Funeral Home located at 2345 Mill Street Aliquippa PA. Funeral service will be held Saturday October 7th at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church located at 2816 Brodhead Road Aliquippa PA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Susan G Komen – Team Keeping Abreast as we will continue to fight, this year in San Diego (any donations made to Rae will be redistributed to other team members in order to meet their requirements):
