J. Patrick Lavelle

J. Patrick “Pat” Lavelle, 90, of Moon Twp. died on Tuesday February 7, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born in Pittsburgh on October 10, 1926 the son of the late Joseph & Anne (Schmidt) Lavelle.

Pat served his country in the US Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater. He retired after 49 years as a lead mechanic for Capitol Airlines now United Airlines. Pat was also a member of St. Stephens Anglican Church, Sewickley.

He is survived by his wife of 55 yrs., RoseMarie (Dunnenberger) Lavelle. Two Children, Christen Goertel (William), TN and Michael Lavelle (Kristin), CO. Five grandchildren, Jesse, Mackenzie, Carlin, Shannon & Patrick.

In addition to his parents, Pat was preceded in death by four brothers, Francis Lavelle, Thomas Lavelle, James Lavelle & Lawrence Lavelle.

The family would like to thank West Hills Health & Rehab for their loving care.

Friends will be received on Friday February 10th from 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM in the Huntsman Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Moon Twp. (1522 Coraopolis Hts. Rd.) A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2 PM in St. Stephens Anglican Church, Sewickley. (Everyone please meet at church). Private burial will take place at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
