LaVerne A. Pettibon

LaVerne A. Pettibon, 96 of Rochester Twp., passed away on Sunday July 3, 2016. He was born on June 30, 1920 the son of the late Arthur and Hazel Sutherland Pettibon. He was a retired manager of the Western Pennsylvania Real Estate for Penzoil Co. He was a retired Lt. Col with the U.S. Airforce, and a WWII veteran. He was a member of Rochester Lodge No. 229 F&M, New Castle Consistory, Syria Shrine, Rochester Elks, Monaca Turners and Faith Community United Methodist Church, Rochester. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Jane, a son Lee; two brothers: William and George. Surviving are his daughters: Deborah (George) Merges, Center Twp.; Karen (Lee) Monit, Boardman, OH; four grandchildren: Kim Murphy, Greg Merges, Shelby and Sean Monit; three great-grandchildren: Kenzie Murphy, Cameron & Addison Stacey, two sisters Evelyn Burnham and Freida Hollihan. A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday October 1, 2016 in Faith Community United Methodist Church 341 Jefferson St. Rochester at 11AM. The members of the Beaver County Special Unit will conduct Military Honors at the church at 11:30am.
