J. Lee Speice

J. Lee Speice of Hopewell Twp., passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday December 25, 2019 in Oregon, while visiting family for the holidays. He was born in Aliquippa on November 9, 1931, the son of the late Joseph and Phylis Speice.

He was retired from J&L Steel and was a member of Ohio United Presbyterian Church in Hopewell.
Lee was a wonderful caregiver to his wife and many others. He was a fan of all the Pittsburgh sports teams and an avid golfer. He loved spending time with his family, especially the grandkids and great grandkids that he thoroughly enjoyed. He was a master handyman and there wasn’t much he couldn’t fix. Lee was very proud of his entire family and their accomplishments. He was generous with his time and had a heart of gold and will be greatly missed by many.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Irene Marjorie Speice, and a sister Lois Malbouf.
Lee is survived by his three sons and daughters-in-law: LeeRoy (Joan) Speice, Oregon; Ron (Debbie) Speice, NY, and Tim (Mindy) Speice, NC. 7 Grandchildren: Heather (Steve) Kelsay, Scott (Jasmine) Speice, Travis Speice, Tyler (Ashley) Speice, Bradlee, Brian, and Stephanie Speice; 6 great grandchildren: Cooper & Austin Kelsay, Luis and Aubrey Speice, Nathan and Nicholas Speice, a brother Don (Sherry) Speice and a sister Doris Ross. Lee is also survived by his special companion, Edna Petrella.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 1pm ~4pm and Monday 10am until the time of Funeral Service at 11 in the Huntsman Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Aliquippa.
Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, consider performing an act of kindness in Lee’s memory.

  3. To my relatives in Pennsylvania, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Lee, he was a cousin and I had not seen him in a while, as I live in Connecticut.
