Helen L. Reader

Helen L. (Dawson) Reader, 92, of New Sewickley Twp., passed away on October 9, 2019.

She was born in East Liverpool, Ohio, on January 7, 1927, a daughter of the late Edward E. Dawson, Sr., and Helen (Leddon) Dawson. She is a graduate of Rochester High School and also from Duff Business School, Pittsburgh.
She was employed for many years with Armstrong Cork, in Beaver Falls and Baltimore, MD.  She was also very involved with the Rochester Hospital and the Beaver Medical Center Auxiliary working in the gift shop and the coffee shop.  She was an active member of the Faith Community United Methodist Church, the Century Club and the Junior Women’s Club, Beaver Falls.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Reader (2018); her siblings, Edward (Helen) Dawson Jr. and Barbara Dawson Jones; and her sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Jack Prothero.
She is survived by her son, David (Cheryl) Reader; grandchildren, Mike (Amanda) Reader and Mark (Jaclyn) Reader; and five great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Maddox, Ashton, Carson, and Cash. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Kate Reader, and LeRoy and Beth Jones; her step sister-in-law, Elva Petrick; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the HUNTSMAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES OF ROCHESTER, www.huntsmanfuneralhomes.com, 502 Adams St., as well as on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. in the Faith Community United Methodist Church, 341 Jefferson St., Rochester. Private Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery, Freedom.
