John Ryan Kirwan Jr.
John Ryan Kirwan Jr, 86, of Moon Township, PA passed away, Tuesday, December 5th at Caring Heights Rehabilitation Center in Coraopolis, PA after a battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
John was born October 5th, 1931 in Monroe, MI to John and Lucille (Cliff) Kirwan. He graduated from Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL. John was employed by Hilton Hotels for 25 years. A lifelong baseball fan, in his retirement, he published the book The Pittsburgh Gentlemen about his collection of autographed baseballs. He was a long time member of the Greater Pittsburgh chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society and sang in the church choir at St. Margaret Mary’s parish in Moon Twp, PA.
John is survived by his wife of 47 years, Phyllis of Moon Twp, PA; his two children, Kevin Ryan Kirwan and his wife Holly of Moon Twp, PA and Kelly Marie Lizanich and her husband Andrew of Robinson Twp, PA; two grandchildren, Kyle and Bryce Lizanich; his brother Roger of Golden, CO and his wife Carol; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Sr. and Lucille, and his sister, Patricia Marie Dolph.
Friends will be received on Friday December 8th from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in the Huntsman Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Moon Twp. (1522 Coraopolis Hts. Rd) Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday at 9:30 AM in St. Margaret Mary Parish, Moon Twp (Everyone please meet at the church). John will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery in Moon Twp, PA.
