Doris Gail Merz

Doris Gail Merz, 73 of Rochester passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 in UPMC Passavant Hospital McCandless.  She was born in Sewickley, Pennsylvania on September 28, 1952 the daughter of Cora Mae Kelly and the late Charles Kelly.  Doris was retired after working for many years at Cranberry Place and then later at James Motel. Her life revolved around helping her family, but in her free time she did enjoy crafting.  

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Brian Wright; and a niece, Michelle Kelly.

She is survived by her daughter Heather Grasso, her mother, Cora Kelly; two brothers: Chuck (Linda) Kelly and Thomas Kelly; a nephew Shawn Kelly, and a great nephew; Gabriel Kelly.

As were her wishes, all services are private.

Interment will take place at a later date in Rehoboth Cemetery next to her son.
