Robert V. McLaughlin Jr.
Robert V. McLaughlin Jr. “Buzzy”, 89, of Hopewell Twp., passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Aliquippa on June 9, 1935 and graduated from Aliquippa High School in 1954.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Eunice Lloyd McLaughlin; children: Randy (Rhonda) McLaughlin, Rodney McLaughlin and Robin (Jim) Burd; 8 grandchildren: 14 great grandchildren: 2 sisters-in-law: Colletta McLaughlin and Sara Jane Shaffer, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents: Rober V. McLaughlin Sr. “Buss” and Anna Yarnell McLaughlin; a son Robert Jeffery McLaughlin; a sister, Nancy Blickenderfer and her husband Earle; a brother David McLaughlin, sister-in-law: Donna McLaughlin, father and mother-in-law: Robert and Geraldine Lloyd Sr; and brothers-in-law: Robert Lloyd Jr and Wayne Shaffer.
After high school, Bob joined the military, and served in the US Army Security Agency in Germany for 3 years. After his discharge, he went to work for the US Postal Service as a letter carrier for 35 years. He also worked part time as a realtor. He attended Plan 12 CMA & Crestmont Alliance Churches. He was a member of the NALC, NRA, USGA, and Hopewell Quarterbacks. He was involved in sports for the majority of his life and one of the original members of the Aliquippa Slow Pitch Softball League. Bob also Bowled and golfed in several leagues in the Valley. He coached Hopewell Little Leage Baseball and 5th grade basketball for several years while his boys were young. He also loved to hunt and fish at their family cabin in Forrest County. Although his favorite pastime was watching his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren participate in their activities. He will be deeply missed.
Friends will be received on Friday, January 31 from 5pm until 7pm in Huntsman Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Aliquippa where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 11am.
The Beaver County Special Unit will conduct Military Honors at the Funeral Home on Saturday, at 11:30am.
Private interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery
