Anya Elyse La Mar
Anya Elyse La Mar, 11, of North Fayette, loving and courageous daughter of Robert “Bob” and Sandra (Hardesty), died in Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh on Dec. 28, 2016. She was given care and love from Mike of Child Life and many 9B nurses and doctors. Anya was a member of Orchard Hill Church and an honor roll student at West Allegheny Middle School, where she had many friends and loving, wonderful teachers. Anya played softball and danced, and loved to ice skate, ride bikes, swim, go to the beach and amusement parks. She also played the piano, and, even though she didn’t like to practice, played beautifully. Among her favorite hobbies were ROBLOX, Instagram, making crafts and creating videos with her friends on Musical.ly. She also liked to draw, especially Peanuts cartoon characters, and paint pottery. Anya enjoyed traveling, and her favorite places were Disney World and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. She recently visited Disneyland in Anaheim, CA, Birch Aquarium in La Jolla, CA, Venice, FL, to see Nana and Pap Bob, and the Clearwater (FL) Marine Aquarium where she met Hope and Winter as trainer for the day. Anya had a great capacity to appreciate life and love and care for others, and her infectious laugh made her a joy to be around. Despite her youth, she loved to interact with people of all ages, even adults, becoming close to Erica and Dana. Anya was a smart girl who had a silly side and would amaze people with her ability and wit. Anya loved her mom and dad, her first dog Sammy, and her two new puppies, Brandy & Champagne “Champ,” who were always at her side or on her lap. They will miss her greatly, as well.
