Sandra S. Crissman
Sandie Crissman (nee Peoples) passed away peacefully in Mayfield Heights, OH, on Thursday, May 2, with Ray, her husband of 54 years, by her side. Born in Sewickley, PA to Samuel and Helen Peoples, she grew up in Aliquippa with her three brothers, Samuel, Richard, and John. She graduated from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA, where she was introduced to Ray at a float decorating event in 1968. They have been together ever since.
Sandie and Ray moved to Southern New Jersey in 1980, where they raised their two children, Debbie and Dan. A skilled crocheter, she filled their house with cozy and colorful afghans—along with more than a few skeins of untouched yarn. She was a longtime member of Bunker Hill Presbyterian Church in Sewell, NJ, where she made many lifelong friends. She is survived by husband Ray, daughter Debbie Russo (Jim), son Dan (Colleen), and grandsons Ben (3) and Jack (due in September). She was preceded in death by her three beloved dogs, AJ, Bailey, and Bodie.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 from 10am-12pm at Huntsman Funeral Home of Aliquippa, followed by a service at 12pm. A procession will escort her to New Bethlehem Church Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest.
