Sharon Jones

Sharon Jones, 73, of Raccoon Twp., passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 in her home.  She was born in Raccoon Twp., on June 24, 1949 a daughter of the late Harper and Olga Johnston. She was a Marine Veteran serving during the Vietnam Era.  Sharon loved her family; she enjoyed spending her time with them. She also loved going on family trips to Virginia Beach.  She was a longtime member of the democratic committee. Sharon loved to craft, she spent lots of time creating wooden crafts that she and her husband would sell at yard sales and flea markets.  She was a member of Bethlehem United Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her husband Robert Jones; two children: Susan & Michael Bird, and Robert E. Jones and his fiancé Mary Gerrity; her brother whom she helped raise: Terry & Valleree Johnston; three grandsons: Josh, Jon, and Jim Bird; and her niece: Jenae Lynn (Trey Smith) Johnston.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Donna Walters.

Friends will be received on Saturday, June 17, 2023 from 1~3pm and 6pm until the time of Funeral Service at 7:30pm in the Huntsman Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Aliquippa.

Private interment will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery.

A family luncheon will be held on Sunday, June 18, 2023 starting at 1pm in the Shippingport Community Center.
