Charles Clyde Reich Sr.

Charles Clyde Reich Sr., of Vanport, passed away on Friday, July 15, 2016. He was born in Rochester, PA, on September 10, 1937, a son of the late Clyde and Jean (Welsh) Reich. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Ruth Howe and Lois Ellinwood, and brothers-in-law, Don Robinson and Ed Weber. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna (Triance) Reich and his children, Charles C. (Joyce) Reich Jr., Scott A. (Mary) Reich, Terry (Anthony) Kordecki, and Dennis Bosworth. He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren, Tony Jr., Todd, Christopher, Jennifer, Bryce, Chelsea, Shane, Taylor, Megan, Kevin and Karen; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Jeanne Robinson, Ina Weber, Sally (James) Regney, and brother-in-law, Robert Howe. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. After the Air Force, he worked as a laborer for many manufacturing plants in the area, such as St. Joes. After retirement, Charles helped out at the Vanport Fire Hall, volunteering for events and calling BINGO weekly. He enjoyed playing golf and going bowling. He was an overall sports fan and enjoyed coaching as well as playing. He was on the board of directors for the Van Buren Homes, as well as the Men’s Club. Friends and family are invited to a memorial service on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Marion Hill Alliance Church, 4607 Rochester Rd., New Brighton, PA 15066. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Vanport Fire Hall, 435 Jefferson Ave., Vanport, PA 15009.
