Jeffrey Conte

Jeffrey Conte

Jeffrey Conte, 65, of Moon Township, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 27, 2026. Born on October 27, 1960, in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Louis and Sally Conte.

Jeff was a proud graduate of Ellwood City High School and Lock Haven University. After earning his B.A. in Education, he began his teaching career in Elkland, Pennsylvania, and later joined the South Side School District, where he dedicated 34 years to teaching students with special needs. During his time at South Side, Jeff also coached basketball and baseball, sharing his love of sports and positively influencing countless students.

A devoted Pittsburgh sports fan, Jeff never missed the Pirates’ Home Opener and loved cheering on the Steelers and Penguins. He was also deeply involved with Special Olympics for many years, an experience made especially meaningful because he shared it with his brother Ethan.

Some of Jeff’s happiest times were spent cheering on his daughter and her friends during their soccer games—he never missed one.

Jeff loved being outdoors—working in the yard, landscaping, boating, and fishing—and he especially cherished family trips to Rehoboth Beach. Music was always a part of his life. His favorite song, “I’m Not Here for a Long Time, I’m Here for a Good Time,” captured his outlook perfectly. He was always dancing, singing confidently (and often off key), and bringing joy everywhere he went.

Above all else, Jeff loved his family and friends deeply. His huge, unforgettable hugs and his big, radiant smile will be profoundly missed. His warmth, humor, and loyal heart touched everyone who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Jeff was preceded in death by his brother, Ethan Conte, and his sister in law, Patricia Aulgur.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Jill Conte; his daughter and son in law, Kallie and Zachary Kelly; his brothers, Louis (Mary) Conte Jr., Randall Conte, and Kevin (Sandy) Conte; four brothers in law, William (Tracy) Coolidge, Scott (Joda) Coolidge, Jeff (Shirlee) Coolidge, and Todd (Missy) Coolidge; his sister in law, Pamela (Jay) Murphy; and many cherished nieces and nephews: Jacqlyn, Jenna, Allaire, Grace, Patrick, Lyndsey, Zeke, Brad, Megan, Blake, Matt, Kate, Timmy, Todd, Anna, Jake, Tyler, Lauren, and Anna Marie. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Molly.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 1:00–4:00 p.m. at Huntsman Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Moon Township (1522 Coraopolis Hts. Rd), with a celebration of his life to follow.

  5. I know Jeff through my husband, who taught with him at South Side. Although I can probably count on only two hands the number of times I met him, I somehow thought I was one of his closest friends. My guess is that he made everyone feel that way. He was one of a kind. I’m so sorry.

  6. We have truly lost a great fiend in our Weeping Willow Drive neighborhood. Jeff has been there for me always , especially during my heart transplant journey . He always stopped by to see how I was doing if there anything he could do for me. He recently stopped by before the big snow storm to tell me he didn’t want me to move the snow he would take care of it as he always did with each snow storm. Heaven has gained a great guy. God Bless him and his family

  9. As a high school classmate and fellow athlete on the high school football team for 3 years with Jeff I can honestly say their is no better friend or dedicated athlete than him. It was always a fun time reliving old memories when he showed up for our high school reunions every 5 years. He will surely be missed but will always be in our hearts and prayers.

  10. Jeff was the one that didn’t just light up a room. He made everyone in the room happier, kinder, and always made even the most average event turn into a good time. He was my mentor my first year of teaching. We didn’t worry so much about the paperwork, but he taught me about the people and the kids. His heart made me instantly better at my job. He was never afraid to care about everyone around him. I know he will be missed by many. I am so thankful to have spent so much of my career calling him my friend.

  11. I am so proud that I was able to call Jeff a mentor and a friend. I had the pleasure of working with him at South Side Area School District and the honor of coaching basketball with him for a number of years. He was always happy to share his knowledge and wisdom with me and as young coach and he saw something in me during a time that I didn’t see it in myself. Jeff was quick to make a joke and happy to tell one of his amazing stories for a laugh. Everytime I would see him out and about he would greet me with a big smile and an even bigger hug! You will truly be missed I am grateful to have called you my friend.

  12. My deepest sympathy to Jeff’s wife, daughter & family ! I grew up with Jeff and he frequently was in West End of Ellwood City, Pa playing sports with us. He was an incredible athlete. At our 40th high school reunion, we spent a lot of time remembering our childhood memories. His smile was captivating ! Often, I accused him of finding the fountain of Youth and hiding it from everyone. Laughing and smiling is how I will remember him. He will truly be missed. God Bless him and his family ! My prayers and sympathy are with the Conte family !!!

  13. I was deeply saddened to hear about Jeff’s passing. We went to school together and graduated the same year. I hadn’t seen him in years, but I will always remember how genuinely kind he was. 21. I was devastated to hear that Jeff is no longer with us. I went to school with Jeff from kindergarten at BVM Catholic school to graduation 1978 class of Lincoln high school Jeff was a great and very nice guy. He was not arrogant or had a mean word to anybody ever although we didn’t hang with the same people. We always talked in the hallways and I have very fond memories of Jeff and his brothers. God bless rest in peace, my friend.

My deepest sympathies for your loss. Jeff was a great neighbor during your years on Wood Street. He was a good friend as well as a great neighbor. His wonderful smile will be missed. He and my Dennis had some great times together. They have probably found each other in heaven and are singing into the night as they used to do.

  29. I had the pleasure of knowing Jeff as a classmate and teammate through our school years at Lincoln and our college years at Lock Haven. He wax as measured of an individual as I’ve ever known. He knew how to engage and have a good time with class, and was a great teammate.
