Sarah Jane Shaffer

Sarah Jane Shaffer, 93 of Hopewell Twp., passed away peacefully on Monday, February 16, 2026 in Masonic Village of Sewickley.  She was born in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania on November 24, 1932 a daughter of the late Robert and Geraldine Lloyd. She was a retired first grade teacher at Aliquippa School District. She was an excellent seamstress and an avid golfer. Sarah was also member of Ohio United Presbyterian Church. 

In addition to her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by her husband W. Wayne Shaffer on January 15, 2012.

She is survived by her son: Timothy & Connie Shaffer; two grandsons: Matthew (Emily) Shaffer and Andrew (Whitney) Shaffer; 4 great grandchildren: Weston, Briana, Harper, and Emma Shaffer; a sister Eunice McLaughlin and numerous nieces and nephews. 

A private memorial service will be held in Ohio United Presbyterian Church.

Private interment will take place in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Association, or to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.

 The family would like to thank all the nurses and Staff at Masonic Village of Sewickley for all the care they gave to Sarah.
