Donald J. Andrews

Donald J. Andrews, 83, of Moon Twp., died August 15, 2025 in Sewickley, PA. He was born in Washington, D.C., on May 23, 1942, the son of the late Boyd P. & Dorothy (Gebro) Andrews.

Donald can be described in so many ways, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, veteran, gardener, and friend. Donald enlisted in the United States Air Force serving in California and Turkey. After returning stateside Donald received his Bachelor’s Degree at Virginia Tech, later receiving a Master’s Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. Donald enjoyed working with his hands and became a master carpenter and superintendent in the construction industry. Donald was also very involved in his carpenter’s union.  Donald had a passion for gardening anytime of the day or night, at times he would be spotted in the dark of night with a head lamp to tend his garden so he would not have to deal with the heat of the day. Donald enjoyed traveling with his wife and family, his last adventure was an Alaskan cruise.

Donald is survived by his wife of 61 years, Alice L. (Lostetter) Andrews, a daughter Teresa Shomo (Milton), granddaughters Nicole Huynh (Calvin) and Allison Brown (Tyreek), four great grandchildren Rileigh & Carson Huynh and Kaiden & Caleb Brown, sister Mary A. Frye and brother Steve L. Andrews.

In addition to his parents Donald was preceded in death by his brothers Paul L. Andrews & Joseph B. Andrews.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday August 20^th from 2:00-4:00PM & 6:00-8:00PM at the Huntsman Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Moon Twp. (1152 Coraopolis Hts Rd.). A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday at 11:30am at Saint Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Moon Twp. Interment and military honors will follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA.
