Donald Walter Campbell
Donald Walter Campbell, 92, of Hopewell Twp., passed away peacefully on Friday, October 21, 2022 in Cambridge Pointe. He was born in Washington, PA on October 24, 1929 the son of the late Walter and Florella Campbell. He was a 1947 graduate of Hickory High School. After graduation he went to work at J&L Steel where he worked in the Seamless Tube mill for 36 years. He was a US Army Veteran serving in Germany with the 48th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion during the Korean Conflict. He was a longtime member of the Boy Scouts earning the Silver Beaver and the 50 Year award. He was a member of New Life PCA Church since 1964, serving as a clerk of session and an elder for many years. He was also a longtime volunteer for Aliquippa Meals On Wheels.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife: Janice (Delpierre) Campbell in 2004; three siblings: Robert Campbell, Richard Campbell, and Doris (Richard) Cowden; and a grandson: Bryce Campbell.
He is survived by his 2 children: Jeffrey Campbell (fiancé Darlene Steiner), Freeport; and Beth & Robert Kindelberger, Hopewell Twp.; 4 grandchildren: Lauren (Dan) Beatty, Pittsburgh; Jaclyn (Joshua) Blanchard, Cambodia; Juliana (Joseph) Makara, Pittsburgh, and Shane Campbell, Freeport; 7 great grandchildren: Brayden, Brielle, and Brooke Beatty, Elijah and Ezra Blanchard, and Ella and August Makara; a brother: William (Janice) Campbell, Hickory.
Friends will be received on Monday, October 24, 2022 from 2pm until 7pm in the Huntsman Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Aliquippa 2345 Mill St. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 11am in New Life Presbyterian Church. 2795 Patterson Dr, Aliquippa. PA 15001 conducted by his pastor, Rev. Jared Nelson.
The Boy Scouts will conduct a Gone Home ceremony at the funeral home on Monday at 6:30pm.
Private interment will take place in Mt. Prospect Cemetery in Hickory, PA.
Memorial contributions may be made to New Life Presbyterian Church.
