Margaret F. (Liedtke) Schwesinger
Margaret F. (Liedtke) Schwesinger, 91, of Moon Twp. passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side, on Wednesday February 2, 2022 in Villa St. Joseph, Baden. She was born in Grantsburg, WI on January 24, 1931 the daughter of the late Bruno E. A. Liedtke and Frieda M. (Feddrich) Liedtke.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 yrs., Fredrick W. Schwesinger in 2016, as well as a brother, George Liedtke (Rosine) in 2000.
She is survived by her three children: Gerald Schwesinger (Jeryl), McDonald, PA; Ronald Schwesinger (Karen), Bethel Park, PA; Anita Gallagher (Bill), Rochester, PA. Ten grandchildren: Heather McKeaver (Jason), Melissa Knuettel (Bjoern), Michelle Robinson (Jeston), Michael Schwesinger, Andrea Schwesinger (Juan), Nicole Wilkinson (Daniel), Christine Dodworth(George), Stephen Schwesinger (Melodie), Jennifer Greenleaf, Alexandra Greenleaf & thirteen great grandchildren: Maycie, Ramon, Eliana, Maximus, Evelyn, Evan, Rowan, Fintan, Jeston Jr., Jayona, Emmanuel, Amari, and Emilio.
Margaret was very active in Greater Beneficial Union with her husband, she was a member of the New Apostolic Church in Greentree…singing in the choir, fixing the flowers for the altar, planning fellowships, etc., she loved to bake and cook, crochet and knit (She made huge afghans for all 10 of her grandkids). It was her joy in life to prepare special baked goods such as jams and jellies and her famous German Tortes for her family and friends. Her family always enjoyed her homemade spaetzle as well. She sewed many of her clothes, gardened and canned. Margaret met her husband Fred taking accordion lessons and they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary April 2015.
The Huntsman Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Moon Twp. is in charge of arrangements.
Friends will be received on Saturday February 5th from 3pm until time of Funeral Service at 5pm at the New Apostolic Church, 116 W. Manilla Avenue, Pittsburgh (Greentree), PA 15220. A Celebration of Life (Fellowship) will follow in the lower auditorium after the service. Private interment will take place at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville at a later date.
