Catherine “Kay” (Jurich) Sassic
Catherine “Kay” Sassic (Jurich) passed away peacefully on November 7th, 2019, at the age of 94. The daughter of Anne Keemac and George Juris, Catherine was born on November 21st, 1924.
She is survived by her sons, Samuel Sassic Jr. (Jan), Roddy Sassic & family (wife Marianne Sassic, Jessica Richards, Alyssa Opsatnik), her grandchildren Jessica Sassic, Jennifer Sassic, and MSgt Andrew Paine & family; her niece, Leslie Ann Dinkfelt (Popp), husband Alan; and nephews, Dan Jurich and Steve Jurich, Jr. and their families.
She is joined in Heaven by her husband of 54 years Samuel Sassic Sr.; her sister, Ann Popp (Jurich), and her brother Steve Jurich, Sr.
She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, neighbor, and friend who brightened every room she entered. She touched the hearts of many, and will be missed.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 1-3 PM in the Huntsman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. (502 Adams St.) Private interment will take place in Oak Grove Cemetery, Freedom.
In lieu of flowers, please donate in her name to the Humane Animal Rescue, 1101 Western Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15233 as she was a lifelong lover of animals, especially dogs.

Our gal “Kay” will be dearly missed. Having been a part of my life for 60 + years Kay brought joy and smiles wherever she went. She was a dear neighbor and friend.
She always enjoyed being with people, loved to sing and dance m wear purple and eat hot dogs ! Everyone she came in contact with would always comment on how sweet she was… full of love and kindness ! I’m very thankful for the time I was able to spend with her the last several years. She lived a Christian life and I know she is with God ….may she Rest In Peace.
