We are so saddened by the passing of Tom. My family knew him as our father’s friend who married our mother, Doris Milligan after our father passed away. They had over 20 years of marriage together and unfortunately this was not mentioned in the obituary. As his condition worsened over the last several months, our 91 year old mother relocated to South Carolina to assisted living where she has gotten better care and is closer to her daughter, a nurse practitioner. Unfortunately this departure was viewed negatively by the the Davies daughters who did not realize what was best for their stepmother. The Milligan family is truly saddened by the passing of Tom.
Rob,
Your reply message does not accurately reflect the true situation. As you are aware your mother walked out on my father who had dementia. Before leaving she placed my father in physically dangerous situations where he could have fallen despite being asked not to do so. She also created multiple negative situations with the assisted living nursing staff in an attempt to justify her leaving my father. Too bad you weren’t able to visit regularly to actually see what was really going on.
