Eleanor Mae (Searfoss) Eisenbrown
Eleanor Mae (Searfoss) Eisenbrown, 91, of New Sewickley Twp., died peacefully Sunday, August 19, 2018, at Paramount Senior Living Center, Mars PA, with her family by her side. She was born February 6, 1927 in Beaver Falls, PA, a daughter of Harry L and Willace Searfoss.
After graduating from Beaver Falls High School, Eleanor began her working career as a credit manager for Montgomery Ward, Beaver Falls. She married Norman E. Eisenbrown in 1949 and worked as a secretary for their family business, Eisenbrown-Baird Implement Co., New Brighton, PA from 1957-1972 and finally working as a secretary, cook, cleaner, canner, baker, and whatever else needed on the family farm in New Sewickley Twp.
She was a member of Concord Presbyterian Church for 53 years, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, and was member of the Concord Ladies Aid Society.
She is survived by her for children, Patricia (Keith) Jones, of Baden, Norma (Dennis) Hoegle, of Rochester, Marcia (Robert) Smith, of Hopewell, and Edward (Diane) Eisenbrown, of Freedom; 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Norman; six brothers, Charles, Lyle “Johnny”, Clair, Harry Jr. Kenneth, and George.
Eleanor enjoyed reading and preparing for her Sunday school lessons and will be remembered most for her sense of humor, constantly joking and kidding with family and friends, and her hard work and kind spirit.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm in the Huntsman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. of Rochester (502 Adams St.) where a funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 am, with Rev. Tom Clifton, officiating. Interment will be private.
