William Karas
William Karas, 71, of Center Twp., passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016, in Good Samaritan Hospice. He was born in Rochester on August 15, 1944, the son of the late Mitter and Ann Karas. He worked for J&L Steel, Fort Pitt Brand Meats, and Fed Ex. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a life time member of the Vietnam Vets. He enjoyed woodworking, golfing, and working out in the yard. He also loved the Pirates and NASCAR. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Krystal Marie Spark; his mother and father-in-law, Richard and Billie Hollein, and a brother-in-law, Richard Hollein. Surviving is Bill’s high school sweetheart, Carolyn, whom he married on August 7, 1965; two daughters, Cathy Karas and Dawn and Frank Sparks; two grandchildren, Kyler Sparks and Ciara (Henry)Lawson; two great-grandchildren, Urijah and Scarlett; a brother, Mike (Donna) Karas; two sisters, Donna (Carl) Hage, and Diane (Eugene “Waaba”) Roberts; an uncle, Leonard Karas; brother-in-law, Bob (Susie) Hollein; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Hollein and Tamie (Tim) Nebel, and an aunt and uncle, Bob and Peg Burak. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and a special friend, Richard Fuller. Friends will be received on Monday from 3 to 8 p.m. in the HUNTSMAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES OF ALIQUIPPA, www.huntsmanfuneralhomes.com, 2345 Mill St., where a funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Beaver Cemetery where the Beaver County Special Unit will conduct Military Honors at 12:15 p.m. Due to allergies, the family requests no flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hillman Cancer Center or to Good Samaritan Hospice.
