After a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer, Edmund L. Sungala, 58, of North Fayette, peacefully went on to be with our Lord and Savior on March 29, 2016. Ed was born in Mahoning County, Ohio on November 15, 1957 He was the son of the late Allen P. & Margaret (Mudry) Sungala Ed proudly served his country in the US Army, was employed by Aramark Corp where he enjoyed being the Supervisor of Environmental Services at Ohio Valley Hospital, was a member of the Lebanese Club, Aliquippa as well as a member of St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Imperial. He will be missed daily by his devoted loving wife and best friend of 29 yrs. Mary T. (Metro) Sungala. His caring children: Christine Lees (Dan), Pittsburgh; Jonathan Sungala (Loni), AR; Christie Liadis (Nick), Imperial; Daniel Sungala, TX. Six beautiful grandchildren who he adored: Nathan, Cheyanna, Jordyn Brooklyn, Brice & Brady. A brother, Richard Sungala, Hazelwood, sisters, Carol Whitaker, Baldwin & Diana Sungala, Harmar Twp. His Mother in Law – Jennie A Metro, Sister and Brother in Law Bob & Barb Serych -Hopewell, Brother and Sister in Law Jim and Sue Metro, Sandy Lake. His very special nephews and nieces, Robert (Melissa) Serych, Jennifer (David) Ausman, Beth (Keith) Roeper and especially his caring sports buddy Kevin M Serych, Adam (Chelsey) Whitaker, Eric (Megan) Whitaker, Great Nephews and Nieces – Luke, Lilianna & Livia Serych and Sawyer & Henry Whitaker – very close caring special friends Jim Anderson (Ingrid), Santa Ana CA, Mike & Dori Marich-Moon, Judy and Dave Katus-Burgettestown, Marci & Ron Razete-Moon as well as numerous extended family members, co-workers and friends that constantly prayed for him and cared for all of us throughout his extended illness. Family and friends will be received on Sunday April 3rd from 1-6PM in the Huntsman Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Moon Twp. (1522 Coraopolis Hts. Rd.) where a prayer service will be held on Monday April 4th at 10 AM with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 AM in St. Columbkille Catholic Church, Imperial. Committal and military honors will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Moon Twp. The family would like to especially thank the Nurses and Staff at Good Samaritan Hospice, Wexford, PA for their outstanding care and constant family support throughout Ed’s stay.
