Michael Tolliver
Marathon training takes time, persistence, strength, and dedication. Michael, you broke the tape and crossed the finish line and took your place atop the podium. Michael Tolliver, 46, of Moon Twp., PA formerly of Mingo Junction, OH passed away on March 1, 2016. He was born in Steubenville, OH on August 9, 1969, the son of the late Bobby & Barbara (Giles) Tolliver. Michael was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and completed the Hall of Fame Canton Marathon in April of 2014 prior to his diagnosis. In addition, Michael completed a second Hall of Fame Marathon in April of 2015 while under treatment with the help of his “Mike’s Miles” support team. He earned his bachelor’s degree in special education from Bowling Green State University, and his Master’s degree from Franciscan University. He has been a passionate Jr. High School educator with the Buckeye Local School District for the last 18 yrs. He is also a member of St. Margaret Mary Parish, Moon Twp., PA. He is survived by his wife of 13 yrs., Lisa (Fowler) Tolliver and their two children, Theodore “Teddy” Tolliver & Melina Tolliver. Brothers, Bobby Tolliver (Lisa) & Scott Tolliver (Michelle). Sister, Donna Rosko (John). Mother & father-in-law, Mary & Ted Fowler. Sister-in-law, Dorothy Sikora (Justin). His dog, Ruke, and his many nieces & nephews will greatly miss him as well. Friends and family are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 9:30 AM in St. Margaret Mary Parish, Moon Twp. PA. Private interment will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery, Moon Twp. PA.
