Elva Catherine Hainley

Elva Catherine Hainley, 97, of Hopewell Twp., passed away on Sunday February 28, 2016 in Friendship Ridge. She was born in Hopewell Twp., on May 20, 1918 the daughter of the late Vern & Kate Maratta. She enjoyed working in the retail field; she worked at P.M. Moore Company in Aliquippa, G.C. Murphy in Aliquippa and the Hopewell Shopping Plaza. She was a very active member of Raccoon United Presbyterian Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir and arranging flowers for Sunday services. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Carl Hainley, and 4 siblings: Lola McDowell, Zona Roscoe, Warren & Lee Maratta. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Ray and Donna Hainley, Center Twp.; two grandchildren: Vicki (Steve) Simon and Scott (Cinnamon) Hainley; 4 grandchildren: Justin, Cody, & Steele Hainley and Davis Simon. A sister: Evelyn “Babe” McElhose, a devoted nephew Rev. James Hainley, a niece Janice (Dennis) Biers, and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Thursday from 2~4 & 6~8pm in the Huntsman Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Aliquippa where a funeral service will be held on Friday at noon. Private interment will take place in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park. A special thank you to Catholic Hospice nurses, social worker, and spiritual advisor for their loving care of Elva and family.
