Joseph J. Rychel

Joseph J. Rychel, of Moon Twp., passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026 at the age of 88 in his home at Apple Blossom Senior Living Center. 

He was born in McKees Rocks on December 27, 1937, the son of the late Michael & Mary (Tovarnitsky) Rychel.         

After a brief time in the Air Force and as a draftsman, Joe found his calling as a certified financial planner.  While Joe spent nearly 40 years as a CFP, his true passion was as an avid sports fan.  A life-long Steelers and Penguins fan, his love for these teams was trumped only by being a fan of watching his sons and grandchildren play soccer, softball and lacrosse.  Joe also spent many, many years as a frustrated golfer.

 Joe is survived by his wife of nearly 60 yrs., Margaret A. (Agostinelli) Rychel; two sons, Mark J. Rychel (Paula Da Costa), Sewickley and Eric M. Rychel (Wendy), Wexford; and four grandchildren, Cole & Jade Rychel, Zoe & Logan Rychel.

All services are private at this time. The Huntsman Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Moon Twp. is in charge of arrangements.  Private interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, Moon Twp.
