Margaret “Marge” Yoders

Margaret “Marge” Yoders

Margaret “Marge” Yoders, 101, of Moon Twp. died on July 19, 2025 in the Bridgeville Rehabilitation & Care Center. She was born in Pittsburgh on August 25, 1923 the daughter of the late John & Florentine (Hufnagel) Beck.

Growing up during the depression, “Grandma GiGi” shared countless stories, not only about happy family memories, but also about the hardships, especially constantly having to move wherever her father could get work.  She remembered going to seventeen different schools throughout her childhood.  She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in McKees Rocks, PA in 1941 where she had the lead in the class play.  In her early years she loved to dance, especially dancing around the living room with her daughter when American Bandstand came on the TV.  She was a great cook and at one point she raised chickens and delivered eggs to her local customers who called her “the egg lady.”  Although she couldn’t read music she played the organ beautifully, often entertaining family and friends.  In her later years she was a voracious reader (mostly romance novels) and along with friends was a member of the Red Hat Society (although she had no patience for the hat because it messed up her hair).  The family is most appreciative of the care and compassion from the staff at Bridgeville Rehabilitation and Care Center and Heartland Hospice over the past two years.

In addition to her parents Margaret was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Oliver McDonald, her second husband George James Yoders, a son, Thomas Scott McDonald, a brother, William D. Beck, a sister, Virginia Schott, stepsons, Craig Yoders, Clifford Yoders and her son-in-law, Charles Henderson.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Ramona Henderson, Moon Twp. and stepdaughter, Kathy Yoders.  Seven grandchildren, Jonathan McDonald (Brigitte), Chad Hanson, John McDonald, Dale McDonald, Kendria May, Clifford Yoders & Jaison Yoders. Five great grandchildren, Zane McDonald, Lexen McDonald, Norah Hanson, Scott McDonald & Collin McDonald.

Friends will be received on Tuesday July 22nd from 3PM until time of Blessing Service at 7 PM in the Huntsman Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Moon Twp. (1522 Coraopolis Hts. Rd.) Private interment in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Moon Twp. will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in Marge’s memory to your favorite charity.
