Hilary (Scherrbaum) House
Hilary (Scherrbaum) House, 101, of Moon Twp., died peacefully on Sunday July 16, 2023 in Vincentian Home, North Hills. Daughter of the late Joseph P. & Margaret (Bodot) Scherrbaum, she was born in North Braddock, PA on March 27, 1922.
In addition to her parents, Hilary was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde R. House in 2014, and three brothers, Joseph N. Scherrbaum, George “Mickey” Scherrbaum, Sylvester Scherrbaum.
She worked as an elementary school teacher for 41 years, mostly in the General Braddock and Moon Area School districts. She always loved babies and children and sorely missed that part of her job after she retired.
Hilary was a long-time member of St. Margaret Mary Church, Moon Twp, where she had been a regular at Saturday evening mass. She served as president of the Moon Area Senior Citizens Association for many years where she presided over their monthly lunches and other fund-raising events. Until recently, she could be found playing cards with the girls every Friday afternoon. She enjoyed that so much and looked forward to it every week.
She is survived by her two children, Dr. Claudia J. House, Moon Twp. and Clyde J. “C.J.” House, Canonsburg. She had two grandchildren, Paul J. House & Nicole A. House.
Claudia would like to thank the nurses and aides in building 2, first floor at Vincentian Home for their care and kindness for the past 4 months. Thanks for letting her always hang out at the table. I’m going to miss seeing you guys every day.
Friends will be received on Thursday July 20th from 2-8 PM in The Huntsman Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Moon Twp. (1522 Coraopolis Hts. Rd.) Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday at 11 AM in St. Margaret Mary Church, Moon Twp. Interment will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Moon Twp.
In Lieu of flowers the family asks that you consider a donation to the Moon Township Volunteer Fire Department (www.moontwpfire.com). They made her 99th birthday so special.

Please accept our sincere condolences on the loss of your sweet mother. We will always remember the joy on her face during her birthday “parade”. We are so happy we could participate.
You were the most attentive and loving daughter a mother could ask for and she was truly blessed to have you with her to the end.
God bless you and may she rest in eternal peace.
