Rita H. Simon

Rita H. Simon, 98, a longtime resident of Findlay Twp. died on May 25, 2021 in Scottsdale, AZ. She was born on February 3, 1923 the daughter of the late Daniel & Helen Hawes.

Rita worked at the Union National Bank in Coraopolis for many years. She was a member of St. Columbkille Church, Imperial, she volunteered for many years at the Marian Resource Center, and she was also a beautician.

In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Louis J. Simon, a daughter, Elizabeth Ree.  Two brothers, John Hawes & George Hawes.  Three sisters, Helen Farrington, Marie Cottrell & Betty McCarthy.

She is survived by three children:  Rose Zagrocki, Bremen, GA; George Ree, Austin, TX; Robert Ree, Coraopolis, PA.  A sister, Joan O’Connor, Monroeville, PA.

Mrs. Simon is also survived by three grandchildren whom she cared for, Tim Ree, Scottsdale, AZ, Casey Pitcock, Denton, TX & Amanda DeFazio, Findlay Twp., PA.  Her ten other grandchildren and fifteen greatgrandchildren will miss her as well.

Friends will be received on Friday June 4th from 3-7PM in The Huntsman Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Moon Twp. (1522 Coraopolis Hts. Rd.) Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10 AM in St. Columbkille Church, Imperial.  Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lawrenceville.
