LaVerne W. Heisler
LaVerne W. Heisler, 81, of Moon Twp. died on Wednesday October 10, 2018 in Concordia at Villa St. Joseph, Baden. She was born in Pittsburgh on February 1, 1937 the daughter to the late Ralph & Ruth (Degenhardt) Wright.
She is survived by her husband of 60 yrs. Best friend, loving husband, and travel companion Robert J. Heisler Sr. two sons, Robert J. Heisler Jr. (Lisa), Moon Twp. & Bruce J. Heisler (Kimberly), Moon Twp.. She was a devoted “Grandee” to her three grandchildren, Shelby Heisler Jarosh (Matt), Annie L. Heisler & Cooper B. Heisler.
In addition to her parents, LaVerne was preceded in death her brother, Ralph “Bucky” Wright.
She had and adventurous life. If she wasn’t on the beach reading a novel or traveling to visit friends, LaVerne could be found tending to her beautiful garden, doing ceramics and painting. She loved her Bob, spending time with her family and sneaking treats to her grand dog, Gucci.
She had multiple careers which ranged from modeling, working for an insurance company, Robert Morris College, manager at the family bar, Moon Area lunch lady, and working for the Pittsburgh Port Authority.
She was an original and active member of St. Andrews Church, member of The Eastern Stars, den mother for her sons, played in the Moon Woman’s Softball League. LaVerne loved traveling the world, including trips to St. Thomas, several European countries and Hawaii.
Always stylish (wearing her Chico’s outfits), she was ready to jump on a plane at any moment, ready for her next adventure.
LaVerne loved and was well loved by her family and all of her friends.
Friends will be received on Friday October 12 from 3-8PM in The Huntsman Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Moon Twp. (1522 Coraopolis Hts. Rd.) Also on Saturday from 10AM until time of Funeral Service at 11AM in St. Andrews Lutheran Church, Moon Twp.
