William S. Kistler

William S. Kistler, 59, of Robinson Township went peacefully into the arms of our Lord on September 27, 2016 in Family Hospice & Palliative Care, Mt. Lebanon. God carried him mightily through a courageous battle with metastatic lung cancer. Bill was born in Pittsburgh on March 29, 1957 the son of R. Drew and Mary (Simpson) Kistler. He grew up in Mt. Lebanon where he graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School in 1975 and went on to Lehigh University where he graduated with a degree in Finance in 1979. Bill began his career at The Union National Bank of Pittsburgh in the Investment Department. He moved on in June 1996 to take a position with Bill Few Associates, Inc. as Director of Research & Stock Portfolio Manager. Bill never considered his work a “job”. He loved investments, his co-workers whom he considered “family”, and derived much satisfaction in assisting clients in any way possible. Bill was also President and Trustee of the William G. & M. Virginia Simpson Foundation which Bill’s grandfather, William G. Simpson, established to offer financial assistance for college scholarship recipients. Bill was an avid golfer and lifelong sports fan especially enjoying all the Pittsburgh sports teams. One of his most memorable trips was with his father-in-law, Andrew and brother-in-law, Jim in 1997 to play the great courses in Scotland. One of the highlights of that trip was the privilege to play the Old Course at St. Andrews. Bill was a season ticket holder for the Penguins and loved going to the games with his son-in-law, Norm. In addition to his parents Bill is survived by his wife of over 35 years, Jamie (Innocenzi) Kistler, his beloved daughter Brittany Dill (Norman #1 Son). Two beautiful grandsons, Aiden and Lucas Dill whom he referred to as his “Lil Buddies”. His sister Ginger Bean (Stu) and Sharon DeNunzio. His father-in-law, Andrew R. Innocenzi (Susan) and his brother-in-law, James A. Innocenzi (Lynn). As per Bill’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. The Huntsman Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Moon Township is in charge of arrangements. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service, celebrating Bill’s life, on October 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Church at Grove Farm located at 249 Duff Road, Sewickley, PA 15143. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill’s honor to an organization close to his heart which is the Urban Impact Foundation, 801 Union Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15212 The family wishes to extend our heartfelt love and thanks to Dr. Vincent Reyes and his entire staff at the UPMC Cancer Center-Bethel Park, Dr. Robert Werner and his entire staff at the UPMC Cancer Center-St. Clair, St. Clair Hospital and the nurses and staff on 5G for their outstanding care and compassion, and Family Hospice & Palliative Care, Mt. Lebanon, with much love and thanks to Bill’s nurse Bonnie and his aide, Flo. We experienced many Blessings in the Midst from everyone during the course of this journey and it meant everything to us. God bless all of you.
